My Projects

This page is dedicated to my personal projects. I have separated miscellaneous personal projects from the engineering focused projects (if you're on mobile, just keep scrolling!). I am working on making full write-ups available for every project as well as plans where applicable.

Engineering Projects

Articulated Jib Crane

This articulated jib crane was designed for a junior level machine design course. Emphasis was placed on practicality of use and manufacture. The crane is capable of lifting up to 1000lbs with a factor of safety ~2.4.

Note: This design represents a student-level theoretical design and analysis. DO NOT attempt to build this machine without a applying proper design & analysis methods.

Thermal Solar System Analysis

This project was done for MEE 433 - Solar Thermal Engineering. The objective was to design and size a thermal solar system for industrial use in a paper mill. Since I had recently come home from working in such a facility, I opted to base my project at the locaiton of the mill in Baileyville, ME. While the numbers in the project are estimates, it provides a good perspective of what goes into the design of a thermal solar system, and may provide a starting point for designing other systems for smaller (or larger) applications.

Record Shelf & Bookcase

Disappointed with commercially available bookcases in my price range, and excited to attempt a woodworking project using a hardwood (Oak), I designed and built this bookcase over the course of summer '21 & summer '22'. The goal of this project was to construct a bookshelf that could hold books, up to textbook size, as well as records. As a result, this bookcase is 20 inches deep, much deeper than a standard bookcase to afford the space for the record player and records.
